Batting
I stock Quilters Dream Batting; QD uses the finest fibers, resists shrinkage and needles beautifully.
I have QD available on 93" rolls in 100% cotton, 80/20, which is a cotton poly blend, wool and bamboo. I also carry Quilters Dream 80/20 in different sized packages. Other batting by Quilters Dream, such as polyester, can be ordered for you upon request.
If you prefer a different high quality batting other than Quilters Dream, you are welcome to send it along with your quilt.
Batting cut from a roll is charged by the yard. I calculate it based on the width of your quilt plus a 6" margin. For example, if you have a 60" x 80" quilt, I will cut 66" or 1.83 yards.
Batting is a separate charge and is NOT included in the square inch price. The cost of batting is calculated on your invoice according to current retail pricing. I'm required by the State of Minnesota to collect a sales tax of .07875 on the quilting service and batting charge.
Thread
I stock Saracore 40 weight polyester thread in more than 40 solid colors. The cost of thread is included in your square inch price.
My personal style is to match or blend the thread color with whatever looks best on your quilt top. Often I will audition three or more colors by "puddling" the threads across all the colorways in the quilt and consult with you before deciding which one will best showcase your patchwork.
Photography
I will take a picture of your quilt after stitching out the first 3 or 4 rows and send you a "sneak peek" via email or text. When your quilt is completed I will photograph it again and send the pictures to you.
I make every effort to take good quality pictures that are sharable; however I am not a professional photographer. You are free to do what you want with these pictures but request that you acknowledge me as the longarm service provider. With your permission I would like to repost these pictures on my social media sites.
Shipping
I will be happy to receive your quilt by mail.
When shipping your quilt, place all materials in a sealed plastic bag to protect against possible moisture in transit, and then put the sealed bag in a hard-sided cardboard box. Make sure the box is securely taped and labeled clearly.
I will send your quilt back to you in the manner described above via USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate. The cost is determined by the quilt size and will be included on the invoice. Priority mail comes with $50 of insurance and a tracking number but please indicate on your intake form if you would like me to buy any additional insurance on your behalf. It's a good idea to insure your valuables against loss or damage while shipping with the Postal Service, but I don't require it.
